Assurity offers individual disability insurance and simplified disability insurance. If you’re self-employed, you can also get coverage. The simplified disability insurance option gets you coverage without you having to go through a full medical scan. Simply do a phone interview and Assurity will then run a prescription and MIB check.

As long as you are between the ages of 18 and 59, you can get protection up to $3,000. If this doesn’t sound like enough money to pull you through, then individual disability insurance is probably the plan for you. This option will provide you with a major portion of your lost income until you are able to go back to work.
